Medical Cannabis / Digital Health
Problem Definition
HighGround is a telehealth startup operating in Australia’s medical cannabis sector — a market defined by strict compliance, rising awareness, and the need for patient trust. They wanted a fully digital patient pathway covering eligibility checks, virtual consultations, and treatment continuity. The challenges were clear: TGA rules prohibit direct product marketing, catalogue browsing is not allowed even post-login, and existing competitors offered a fragmented onboarding experience. We were brought in to reimagine the journey from the ground up — delivering a platform that felt compliant, seamless, and credible.
Our Role
Research and Compliance — Studied TGA and AHPRA regulations in depth, audited leading competitors, and identified three core user segments. Built a compliance-first strategy grounded in real patient behavior and expectations.
Persona and Journey Mapping — Defined detailed journeys for patients, doctors, and admins, highlighting pain points and preferred interaction patterns to shape tone, flow, and functionality.
Three-Layer UX Architecture
Feature Mapping — Detailed must-have, nice-to-have, and compliance-sensitive features for each user type.
UX Documentation — Delivered blueprints, user flows, and content logic from eligibility screening through to post-payment onboarding sequences.
Outcome
A compliant, conversion-oriented platform where eligibility became the natural entry point. The architecture was built to scale, giving HighGround a future-ready framework for patient care, doctor tools, and admin operations — all without breaching regulatory limits.
